Fact Check: Are these photos of Earth really sent by Chandrayan-2?

After July 22, India’s most ambitious flight to the moon,
Chandrayaan-2, took off, a series of photos filled with
social networks. It is alleged that the images of the rotating
Earth were made by Chandrayaan-2.


In social networks pop up a few photos. We are testing
some of them.


The Anti-counterfeiting Department in India (AFWA) found
that the statement with the images of viruses is not true.

Among other things, Facebook user Priyabrata Dasgupta
uploaded a set of photos of the Earth with the inscription:
“The first photo of the Earth sent by Chandrayaan-2. What
an attractive picture it is. “Photos are widely distributed on
both Facebook and Twitter.


The Indian Space Research Organization (Isro) launched
Chandrayaan-2 from the Sriharikota cosmodrome in the
state of Andhra Pradesh. According to the latest Isro update,
the second ground maneuver to raise the orbit of the
Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft was successfully completed
early Friday morning (July 26).

In the coming weeks, Chandrayaan-2 will be subjected to
a series of maneuvers in orbit to deliver it to the vicinity of
the Moon. September 7, the rover will land on the surface
of the moon. His goal - to land closer to the south pole of
the moon, and not to photograph the Earth in space.
