With Super 30, Hrithik Roshan returns to celluloid after a
nearly two-year hiatus as a teacher. Inspired by the life of
the mathematician and teacher Anand Kumar, the film shows
how he prepares 30 low-income students for the entrance
exams to the cherished institutes of the Indian Institute of
Technology (IIT). Super 30 also aims to shed light on the
poisonous culture of educational coaching centers, which
are often preferred by students with better financial knowledge.

Anand seems to be very impressed with Hrithik’s play in the
film. In an interview with DNA, Anand said: “The journey was
special, and Hrithik Ji completely captured my character’s soul.
Every time I watch a movie, its brilliance just surprises me.
From pain to happiness, I feel that I am looking at myself on
the screen. The response I get from the audience was
extremely overwhelming (sic). "

However, in early June, Anand was involved in a dispute
about his Super 30 program. Eight months ago, several
IIT students sued math with public interest, accusing him
of falsely helping students take their place at a prestigious
engineering institute. Later, the students also questioned
the cinematographers for celebrating Anand and his
achievements while the case was still fresh in court.

The PIL, which was filed against Anand last year, asked him
to name the 26 students who, according to him, successfully
entered IIT in 2018. He has not yet answered this.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadvalla, Nadiadwala Grandson
Entertainment, Phantom Films and Reliance Entertainment,
the film was released on July 12th.
